In order to obtain the IGS North-South Certificate of Specialization in Sustainable Development, a
full member must be in possession of his or her PhD diploma and have successfully completed at least 12 ECTS credits of coursework from the IGS North-South course programme (a limited number of ECTS from external courses can also be credited).

To obtain the IGS North-South Certificate, a PhD candidate needs to:

Complete at least 12 ECTS credits in the IGS North-South (see
coursework requirements)

Receive her/his doctoral diploma

Send the following documents to the IGS North-South Management Centre (igs-north-south@cde.unibe.ch):
- Transcript of all courses attended
- Copy / scan of all course certificates or confirmations
- Copy / scan of your PhD diploma
- Electronic copy (PDF) of your PhD thesis
